4 quart country freezer ice cream churn September 17, 2016 Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Puyallup, WA United States   I am very pleased that I now own a solid, sturdy, durable ice cream churn.  I have made delicious ice cream twice so far and each time the ice cream was delicious!  The features I like about this churn are: 1.  it is made in the U.S.A. and not in China 2.  it has no electric or electronic parts that may fail 3.  it has a stainless steel cream can and not aluminum 4.  it uses ice and salt (not a coolant that needs to freeze for 24 hours as in another brand of ice cream maker) 5.  it is simple to use. In general I like to prepare food from scratch as it is healthier.  I love ice cream but I avoid it because of the excess sugars and  food additives, for example, in commercially prepared ice cream.  In short, with the 4 quart country freezer ice cream churn, using unprocessed ingredients, I may now prepare healthy and enjoyable ice cream, mousse, or sherbet!      Thank you, Country Freezer, for manufacturing this kind of churn. Great product! May 24, 2016 Reviewer: Sylvia from Northridge, CA United States   Many thanks for a great product!! I had been looking for a manual ice cream churner for quite some time now and came across the countryfreezer store while doing an exhaustive google search. After looking into a few brands, including the new White Mountain churners, I had to go with this one. The product is completely made in the US and crafted by the Amish. I knew I couldn't get this kind of quality product from anywhere else, unless I bought an old antique. I'm really glad that I did. Our 4QT is fantastic! The wood structure and metal interior are very sturdy and well-made. Mine did come with a few minor minor (really small) cosmetic defects, which after paying almost 300$, was a little bit disappointing. I would definitely recommend this product, though, fair warning, it can get expensive (and feel a bit overpriced) especially with the shipping. Was this review helpful to you?

Well made -- seems to be built to last.... July 1, 2015 Reviewer: Julie Kramschuster from Lees Summit, MO United States   And the ice cream is terrific....we and our neighbors are enjoying very much the activity of making different ice creams and consuming them together! The hand-crank is not too much work -- our family had used the electric ones when I was growing up and I never liked the noise....ruins the ambience.  The hand-crank is not too hard and kids can take turns...it takes no more than 25 minutes (some recipes less).  Our family is very pleased....bucket is thick and sturdy, gear housing seems solid and well made....canister and paddle are mostly metal and tough.... Well Built and effective September 2, 2014 Reviewer: John from Carlisle, PA United States   I ordered this machine because it looks like White Mountain brand's quality has gone downhill over the years.  This is definitely a solid piece of machinery.  I forgot to soak it before first use so it leaked a little bit, but that's on me for sure.  I made Lime Sorbet with it almost as soon as it arrived and it turned out perfect.  Would highly recommend to anyone.
